Girls 2nd, boys 3rd in Jackson meet | Cross country

The Oak Harbor High School girls cross country team placed second and the boys third in a five-team meet at Jackson High School in Mill Creek Wednesday, Oct. 8.

The Oak Harbor High School girls cross country team placed second and the boys third in a five-team meet at Jackson High School in Mill Creek Wednesday, Oct. 8.

The host Timberwolves won both meets.

The Jackson girls tallied 45 points, trailed by Oak Harbor (58), Edmonds-Woodway (65), Everett (76) and Meadowdale (116).

The Jackson boys placed six runners in the top nine to score 24 points. Shorewood finished with 50 points, Oak Harbor 98, Everett 99 and Meadowdale 105.

Oak Harbor’s John Rodeheffer was boys individual winner at 12:44.

The top Wildcat girl was Jonalynn Horn, who ran sixth in 16 minutes.

Others scoring points for the Oak Harbor boys were Jacob Hucko (22nd, 13:59), Caleb Peek (34th, 14:22), Sebastian Ceaser (35, 14:23) and Michael Lym (39th, 14:29).

Following Horn in the girls race were Carolynn Wicker (eighth, 16:26), Olivia Flack (ninth, 16:28), Megan Keating (17th, 17:18) and Laura Rodeheffer (18th, 17:18).

Oak Harbor will run in the Hole in the Wall Invitational at Lakewood High School at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11.
