Getchell charges to early lead in win over OH / Softball

Marysville Getchell scored five runs in the first inning and never looked back in an 11-1 win in six innings over the visiting Oak Harbor High School softball team Monday, April 29.

The Wildcats’ one run came in the second inning. Katie Bishop was hit by a pitch, moved to second on Abigale Fierro’s single and scored on Miranda Wilson’s base hit.

Fierro finished with two hits, and Wilson, Cierra LeGendre, Sam Scott, Madisyn Erbe and Kayanne McLain all singled.

Oak Harbor committed seven errors in the game, including three in the Chargers’ big first inning, and only two Getchell (9-2, 14-3) runs were earned.

Arlington (4-6, 7-9) plays in Oak Harbor (2-9, 4-13) at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 30.
