Improved skill and team work are the focus of the Oak Harbor High School cheer team this year.

“Our goals and expectations are to increase our stunting skills and become a more unified program,” coach Kimberly Cherry said. “It will be a successful season if we can increase the school spirit and crowd involvement at the games.”

Leading the squad are its two senior captains Krista Alamo and Becca Tieger.

Other returning letter winners are juniors Hailey Bell, Sarah Bellis, Jacklyn Curtis, Madison Gaber and Sarah Peele and sophomore Shyanne King.

The team’s top newcomer, Cherry said, is freshman Avery Roberts.
