Coach: Eric Peterson.

2018: Girls – third in division, 10th in district. Boys – third in division, eighth in district.

Returning letter winners: Girls – senior Jaelyn O’Hara; juniors Natalie French (second-team, all-conference in 2018), Evelyn Osburn, Courtney VanGiesen. Boys: seniors Brandon Parham, John Pope; junior Hunter Hogarth; sophomores Cooper Billiter, Ryan Metz, Ralph Ramier.

Key newcomers: Girls – Alexis Kunze, Sadie Harbaugh. Boys – Miles Erickson, Jacob Pearson.

Coach’s comment: “My expectations include having a really fun season. We have added some new meets for these kids, which should help them see and experience a variety of races.”

Strengths: Youthful enthusiasm, willingness to improve.

Weakness: Lack of experienced depth.

First meet: Oak Harbor, Shorewood at Marysville-Pilchuck, 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11.

Home meet: Jackson, Mount Vernon, Stanwood at Oak Harbor, 3:45 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3.
