Strong singles play generally carries the Oak Harbor High School tennis squad, but the Wildcats rode the efforts of their doubles teams to a 4-3 win over visiting Marysville Getchell Thursday, April 21.

Oak Harbor (4-1, 5-6) swept the three doubles matches and added a win in fourth singles to remain in second place in the Wesco North standings.

Winners for the Wildcats were Lauren Aspery (6-2, 6-2), Brianne DeGuzman/Ria Bains (6-4, 6-1), Aelizah Espiritu/Peyton Carlson (6-1, 6-4) and Emma Wezeman/Emily Brown (6-0, 6-2).

Oak Harbor dropped the first three singles matches: AnnaBelle Whitefoot lost 6-1, 6-3; Tamia Rios lost 6-1, 6-4; and Elma Empinado lost 6-4, 6-3.

Everett (1-3, 4-5) plays in Oak Harbor at 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 22.
