The Central Whidbey Sportsmen Association’s annual Benefit Turkey Shoot is slated for Saturday, Nov. 20, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the CWSA clubhouse and range.

The clubhouse is located 2.5 miles south of Coupeville on Safari Street, just south of Highway 20 and Morris Road and just north of the Outlying Field. There is a club sign on the highway.

The Turkey Shoot is open to the public and features many events, including some of junior shooters, 12 and under.

Single tickets are $1.50 or four tickets for $5. Enter just one event or enter all the events. Covered shooting rain or shine on the pistol range.

Shoot-offs, if needed, will begin at 12:30 p.m. Turkeys will be awarded after the shoot-offs at approximately 1. There is a one turkey per shooter limit.

Club memberships are also available.

Events (all pistol/revolver shooting is offhand, one or two hands):

1. Large bull: six shots, large bull at 25 yard; best six shots count. (Any pistol/revolver using iron sight only.)

2. Briquettes at 10 yards, six briquettes, break the most without hitting the tube. (Any pistol/revolver using iron sights.)

3. Shotgun at turkey target, 25 yards, 2 shots; most pellets in white center wins.

4. Jug head at 25 yards, six shots; most rounds in bottle per target without hitting the jug head wins. (Any pistol/revolver using iron sights.)

5. Rifle shoot, five rounds at 50 yards at bulls eye target. (22 rimfire rifle, any sights.)

Bring any caliber iron sight pistol/revolver, shotgun, or 22 caliber rifle with ammunition. If participants do not have a 22 rifle or pistol, the club will supply one with ammunition.

Proceeds go to WAIF, so also bring a bag or can of dog or cat food.
