The Coupeville High School boys track team finished second and the girls third in a four-team meet at Kingston High School Thursday, April 28.
Clallam Bay and Neah Bay also took part but were not counted in the official results.
Olympic won the boys meet with 109 points. Coupeville squeaked into second with 52, nipping Kingston (51.5) and Port Angeles (50.5).
The girls meet followed a similar pattern. Olympic won handily with 127 points, and in the scramble for second, Port Angeles tallied 54, Coupeville 50 and Kingston 45.
The Coupeville boys received a double win from Latham Kelley (long jump, 19; triple jump, 38-09). Dalton Martin collected the only other first (discus, 151-06).
For the girls, Makana Stone won the 800 (2:25.56) and ran on the winning 4×200 team with Lauren Grove, Lindsey Roberts and Sylvia Hurlburt (1:48.11).
The Olympic League championship meet is at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 7, at North Kitsap High School.
