Mount Vernon scored three runs in four different innings to stop the host Oak Harbor High School softball team 12-6 Wednesday, March 20.

The Bulldogs’ first three-spot came in the first inning with the help of three consecutive doubles.

Mount Vernon then tacked on three more runs in the second and fourth innings to go up 9-3.

Oak Harbor got two runs back in the bottom of the fifth. LeGendre reached on an error and moved to third on another double by Crocker. LeGendre scored on Ceirra Dean’s goundout, and Crocker scampered home on Tucker’s sacrifice fly.

The Wildcats made it 9-6 with a run in the sixth. Sam Scott singled with two outs, stole second and scored on Wilson’s base hit.

The Bulldogs padded their lead with a three-run seventh.
