The Coupeville High School soccer team scored a season-high four goals but couldn’t keep up with visiting Bellevue Christian and lost 7-4 Wednesday, March 30.

The Vikings (2-3) scored within the first two minutes, added two goals midway through the first half and never trailed.

Coupeville received goals from Ethan Spark, Sebastian Davis, William Nelson and Abraham Leyva Elenes.

Nelson and Leyva Elenes also registered assists.

Coach Kyle Nelson said several factors hampered the Wolves’ efforts.

“We were tired from the night before and some guys were not 100 percent,” Nelson said. “Having our starting keeper suspended from the previous game did not help either.”

The Wolves played Vashon Island Tuesday, which included 10 minutes of overtime. In the game, starting goalkeeper Connor McCormick received a red card for a handball outside the box and was required to sit the BC match.

The Wolves (0-4-1) play Forks (1-3) at home at 12:30 p.m. Monday, April 4.
