A seventh-inning rally lifted the Coupeville baseball team to a 4-3 win over Lakewood Monday, April 26, at Sherman Field.
The win knotted the two clubs’ records at 8-8 in the battle for third in the Cascade Conference. Coupeville travels to Lakewood Wednesday, April 28; the Cougars return to Coupeville Friday, April 30, at 4 p.m. to complete the series and the regular season.

J.D. Wilcox followed with a fly to right that scored Griffin to tie it. Erik King ripped a ball into the right-center field gap to score Smith all the way from first with the game-winner.
Lakewood jumped to a three-run lead. Coupeville got two back in the fifth on Smith’s triple with Sean Thurman (walk) and Griffin (single) aboard.
Griffin finished 3-for-4 with two runs.
Pitcher Wilcox limited the Cougars to three hits and two earned runs while striking out seven.
