Coupeville’s J.D. Wilcox has been selected to play in this weekend’s all-state baseball series at Davis High School in Yakima.

Wilcox was originally an alternate for the game but was named to the squad earlier this week.

The series includes four teams of the state’s best senior players. Wilcox will be on “Team St. Helens” and will play at 3:15 p.m. Saturday, June 12. If St. Helens wins, it will play at 1:35 Sunday; if it loses, it will play at 10:25.

Wilcox, an all-Cascade Conference first-team infielder, hit .395 with 18 RBI and 12 stolen bases this season.

Mike Bagby (2005) and Alex Evans (2007) are the most recent Coupeville players to be selected all-state.
