Coupeville’s Kevin Eaton received the Al Evans Most Valuable Player Award at the all-state baseball feeder game at Joe Martin Stadium in Bellingham Saturday, June 5.

Eaton went 6-for-7 with six RBI and two doubles in the double-header that featured the best seniors from the area.

J.D. Wilcox, Chad Brookhouse, Chase Griffin and Erik King also competed in the games.

Wilcox was 1-for-4 with an RBI and was the winning pitcher in the first game as he threw four innings and struck out five.

He and Brookhouse were two of five 1A players nominated from the games for consideration to be selected for the all-state series this weekend. Nominations were based primarily on the season and not Saturday’s games.

Neither was selected by the state, but Wilcox is an alternate.

Oak Harbor’s Brad Farnum, Pat Higbee and Kian Mebane participated in a 4A feeder game June 3 in Snohomish.
