The seventh-grade girls team led a strong performance by Wildcat United in a six-team home cross country meet at Windjammer Park Wednesday, Oct. 8.
Paced by winner Jenny Danielson (9:21), the seventh-grade girls placed nine runners in the top 11 for Wildcat United, a combined team of the two Oak Harbor middle schools.
Other top division finishers for Wildcat United were Natalie Hahn (fourth, eighth-grade girls, 11:18), Lincoln Bassett (fourth, seventh-grade boys, 9:30) and Dylan Rydell (second, eighth-grade boys, 8:55).
Cat Wicker (10:27), Addy Day (10:33), Gracie Upchurch (10:49), Charlotte Shelor (10:50) and Leielle Salinger (10:59) ran third through seventh for the seventh-grade girls. Patti Miessner (11:15), Haley Riffel (11:19) and Francis Empinado (11:27) went 9-10-11.
Other top 10 finishes were earned by eighth-grade girls Maggie Jappert (eighth, 12:15), Hally Parker (ninth, 12:18) and Brianna Gagum (10th, 12:34); seventh-grade boys Shamus Warden (fifth, 9:38) and Peyton Horn (sixth, 10:02); and eighth-grade boys Blake Servatius (fifth, 9:04) and Ben Knoll (sixth, 9:10).
Wildcat United will host another home meet at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16.
