William Rezac

William Phillip Rezac, 60, 20-year resident of Oak Harbor, died at his home Feb. 4, 2003, following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Rezac was born in San Francisco Oct. 28, 1942, to Albert Rezac and Katherine (Rondo) Rezac. He was raised in San Raphael, Calif., where he graduated from high school. He married Cheryle J. (Engles) Fike in Pasco on Dec. 1, 1972. They moved to Mount Vernon, where they lived for 10 years. In August 1982, they moved to Oak Harbor. William was employed by the Cascade Natural Gas Company for 30 years, and retired in October 1997. He was also employed for several years with Pacific Gas and Electric Company in California. He belonged to the Whidbey Cruzers. He loved restoring classic cars, and working on his house. His family was very important to him, and he spent much time with them.

William is survived by his wife, Cheryle, at home; one daughter, Tracy Cooper of Walla Walla; two sons, Chuck Fike and wife Lizanne of Anacortes and Ron Rezac of Everett; two grandchildren, Kerilyn and Jared Fike and one sister, Sally Rezac. He was preceded in death by a son, William Robert Rezac in 1999 and by his parents, Albert and Katherine Rezac.

A memorial service will be Saturday, Feb. 8, at 3 p.m., at Burley Funeral Chapel, Pastor Dave Veach officiating. Arrangements and cremation under direction of Burley Funeral Chapel.
