William M. Swan, 81, of Ellenton, Fla., died Dec. 24, 2005.

He was born April 23, 1924, in Spurgson, Indiana. He moved to the vicinity of Oak Harbor from Garden Grove, Calif., in 1988 and lived here until June, 2002.

He was retired. He was a medic in the Navy for 22 years and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years Virginia; daughters M’Liss of Florida, and Roberta Kelleher of Calif.; sons William of Calif., Forde of Atlanta; 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.

Neptune Society of Palm Harbor, Fla., was in charge of funeral arrangements.
