William George Good

William George Good, 72, of Coupeville, passed away Friday, July 22, 2016.

Bill was born April 5, 1944, in Ottawa, Ill., the eldest son of Harold Good and Matilda Gutenschwager.

He spent his childhood in Vallejo, Calif., where his interests were ranching, horses and cars. Bill served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam era, stationed in Germany and Fort Lewis as a medic. Upon discharge, he resided in Napa and Lake Tahoe, Calif., before moving to Anchorage, Alaska, where he worked as a firefighter. He later worked on the North Slope of the Alaska Pipeline where he met the love of his life, Judy Netolicky of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1974.

They married February 1979, in St. Helena, Calif., raising their three children near Lassen Volcanic National Park, where Bill enjoyed the great outdoors.

He was a car and gun enthusiast, always taking pride in hard work. The family moved to Whidbey Island in 1995, where he enjoyed gatherings with friends and loved making daily phone calls to his children and grandchildren which will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife Judith of Coupeville; children, Todd of Redding, Calif., Kathleen Beach and Christopher Good of Reno, Nev.; as well as four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Bill’s final resting place will be Northern California Veterans Cemetery. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of DaVita and WhidbeyHealth Medical Center and Home Care for their years of dedicated, compassionate care.
