Wanda Foster

Wanda Reeder Foster was born June 27, 1906, in Oakville; she died Sept. 7, 2003, in Olympia. She graduated from Tenino High School and Bellingham Normal. She taught in the Olympia School District and was the first woman principal of Garfield.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Foster and her daughter Sydney Purdue. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Sharon Foster of Olympia; five grandsons, Joe Geary and Paul Purdue of Tacoma, and David, Mike and Scott Foster of Seattle; two nephews, Tom and David Reeder; one niece, Janice Reeder; and three great-granddaughters, Katie Purdeu and Alexis and Kiley Foster.

Wanda worked for the school districts in Carnation and Duvall and at King County School Offices. She and her husband retired to Whidbey Island. She was a member of the DAR and an avid bridge player.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 20, at 11 a.m. at Mills and Mills Funeral Home, 5725 Littlerock Road, Tumwater.
