Trudy Irene Light: Feb 11, 1955 – May 14, 2019

Trudy arrived in the early morning hours of a winter storm in Auburn, N.Y., the youngest of four daughters born to Neal Wm. Wade and Martha Jane (Wallace) Wade.

She spent her early childhood in Auburn and finished her schooling in Santa Barbra, Calif., where she met her future husband, Hershel Felsey Light Jr. She had two sons, Joshua Light, of Winnipeg, Canada (with her grandson Taiven), and Christopher Light, of South Lake Tahoe, Calif.

Trudy also leaves behind sister, Linda Smith (with Trudy above), of Shelton, Wash., with husband Brian; Carolyn Kinch, of Coupeville, Wash.; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Marcia Jane (Wade) Kirby; her ex-husband, as well as a long-time companion; and John Foreman.

A succession of cats were Trudy’s companions through her later life … and her time in Coupeville her most peaceful.

A special thank you to hospitalist Chris Wiese and WhidbeyHealth’s excellent nursing staff for ensuring Trudy’s content at the end of a long and exceeding difficult battle with complications of end-stage liver disease.

Those wishing to remember Trudy could consider a donation to Whidbey Health Palliative Care or WAIF in her name.
