Traci A. Day, 40, died Aug. 8, 2004, at her residence in Oak Harbor. She was born in San Bernadino, Calif., on Feb. 6, 1964, to Gene and Elizabeth Anderson.
Traci lived in San Bernadino with her parents; four brothers, Keith, Ray, John, and Gary; and her older sister Lynn. The family moved to Washington state before Traci began her first year of grammar school. In 1981, while attending Foster High School in Tukwila, Traci met the man she would marry three years later, Warren S. Day. On March 2, 1984 the couple said their “I do’s” and began raising a family that following October when their daughter, Christine Elizabeth, was born. About two years later, on Aug. 13, 1986, their son, Shawn Warren, was born, completing the family.
Traci and Warren moved their little family to Oak Harbor in 1989. This is where their children were raised and educated. During those 14 years, Traci worked in retail and sales. In her spare time she had volunteered for the role of “cookie mom” for her daughter’s Girl Scout troop, not to mention became a troop leader later on down the road for several years.
Traci Day is survived by her husband of 20 years, Warren, 43, her daughter Christine, 20, and her youngest, son, Shawn, 18, all still residing in the family home.
Cremation will be held along with a private family memorial service in the south Seattle area. There will be a small service open to friends who are close to the family at the Day residence. All of the arrangements are under the direction of The Neptune Society in the Everett/Lynnwood area of Washington.
