Suellen Anderson

Suellen (Sue) Anderson, 58, went to be with the Lord at Whidbey General Hospital in Coupeville, Sunday, June 22, 2003, following a battle with liver cancer.

Sue was born on Dec. 16, 1944, in Waterbury, Conn., to Warren E. and Catherine A. Booth. Sue grew up and started her family in California. She and her family moved to Lake Stevens in 1977. Sue and her husband, Leon, have resided in Coupeville since 1995.

Sue spent her life as a loving and nurturing caregiver to many. She was actively involved in PTA, Little League, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. She and her husband were foster parents for 13 years, raising more than 100 children. She taught Sunday school and was very active in church and community services in Lake Stevens. She also ran a daycare for seven years. Until recently, Sue was a guardian ad litem for Island County.

Sue is survived by her husband Leon (Pete), and her 2 sons, Peter (Tony) Anderson of Marysville and Timothy Anderson and his wife Tami of Renton. She also leaves her most precious granddaughter, Nicole. Sue is also survived by her brothers and sisters; Warren E. Booth in Colorado, Joanne Mulinski in Seattle, Douglas M. Booth in Oregon, Melanie T. Lamoureux in California, Cynthia C. Fielder and Mary Louise Booth in California.

A graveside service was held June 25, 2003, at Sunnyside Cemetery. A celebration of Suellen’s life was held at Coupeville Community Bible Church, Pastor Ozell Jackson and Pastor Rick Karjaleinen co-officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Coupeville Community Bible Church. Arrangements by Burley Funeral Chapel.
