Steven Taylor

Steven M. Taylor of Port Orchard died Jan. 12, 2006 at the Life Care Center of Port Orchard due to liver failure. He was 44.

Steven was born Jan. 16, 1961 in Bellingham to Ray and Beverly (Bergum) Taylor of Oak Harbor.

He married Sarah (Gahms) Taylor May 24, 2004 in Las Vegas. Steven graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1979.

He was a sales manager for 23 years in Western Washington — retiring in 2003.

Steven was an active member of the Tacoma Elks.

Steve had a passion for collecting, owning and restoring classic cars — especially his 1968 Camaro and the family 1929 Model A. He loved to travel to warm places with his wife, Sarah, and explore new campsites with their motor home and sit by the campfire with his dog Ringo.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah (Gahms) Taylor of Port Orchard; parents, Beverly Taylor of of Bellingham and Ray Taylor of Oak Harbor; a son, Zachary Taylor of Port Orchard; sister, Suzie Thomazin (Kent) of Renton, and family; grandchildren, Kevin and Austin Chestnut; step-daughter, Angela Chestnut (Bradley); step-sons, Ryan and Derek Perkins, and “Stan” Marvin Bergum.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Ralph L. Taylor of Bellingham; maternal grandparents, Lettie and Elmer Bergum of Bellingham; and uncle, Ralph Taylor, Jr. of New Prague, Minn.

A memorial service will be held at Rill’s Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 1 p.m.
