Stacey Marie Arvizu

Stacey Marie Cheuvront Avizu unexpectedly passed away at her home in Bedford, Texas, on Dec. 5, 2010, at the young age of 34. She was born on Jan. 26, 1976, at Madigan Army Hospital, Fort Lewis, Wash., to parents Mitchell and Terry Cheuvront. She was one of two children.

Stacey attended junior high and high school in Coupeville, graduating in 1994. Following graduation Stacey continued her education in Portland, Ore., receiving certification as a professional nanny. Her first position took her to Southern California where she met Tom Arvizu. Stacey and Tom were married in Oak Harbor on Oct. 13, 2000, and made their home in the Bellevue area, where Stacey continued her career as a nanny until 2008. While in the Bellevue area, Stacey and Tom attended EastLake Community Church and were baptized there in 2007. They moved to Texas in August 2008, which was Tom’s boyhood home.

Stacey is survived by husband, Thomas Arvizu; sons James, 8, and Gabriel, 19 months, of Bedford, Texas; parents, Mitchell and Terry Cheuvront of Coupeville; brother Aaron Cheuvront and wife Jessica of Everett; grandparents Lee and Betty McFarland, Aunt Diana and husband Kenneth Vaughan of Coupeville; and various aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service for Stacey Arvizu was be held Dec. 10 at the Forest Ridge Funeral Home in Hurst, Texas, with Cody Walker officiating. A private interment will be held at DFW National Cemetery on Monday, Dec. 13. A second memorial service will be held in Coupeville at a time and date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stacy Cheuvront Arvizu Memorial Fund at Whidbey Island Bank in Oak Harbor, Coupeville or Freeland.
