Smith Linda J. Smith, 66, of Oak Harbor and formerly a resident of Huron, Ohio, for 19 years, passed away at her home Sept. 28, 2008.

Linda was born Feb. 1, 1942, in Middletown, Ohio. After working several years as a dental assistant, she remained at home in Huron to raise her three children. She had been a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Huron. Linda relocated to Whidbey Island in 1992.

Linda is survived by her son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter, Michael, Christie, and Brittany Smith of Ridgecrest, Calif.; daughter and granddaughter, Michelle and Kirstin Smith of Oak Harbor; daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Jeffrey Hoover of Huron; mother, Eileen Dills of St. Augustine, Fla.; father, Thomas Dills of Sandusky, Ohio; brother and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews of Dayton, Ohio.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Michael G. Smith, and her brother, Richard Spinks.

There will be no funeral services. A private memorial with Linda’s children took place at Deception Pass State Park on Sunday, Oct. 5.
