Scott Christopher Campbell, 43, died Oct. 21, 2006, after fighting polymyositis (Muscular Dystrophy) for four years which caused his cardiomyopathy and subsequent heart failure.
Scott was born in Whittier, Calif., on Dec. 5, 1962, to John “Jack” L. Campbell and Judith Ann Hier Campbell. He grew up in Orange County and graduated from high school while living there.
Scott owned and operated a custom plumbing business in California. He moved to Coupeville in 1992 and continued working in the plumbing business.
Scott was involved in many different sports. He excelled in baseball, football and soccer. He also enjoyed pool, golf, fishing and rock climbing. Scott lived by the “Golden Rule.” He treated others in the same manner that he would like to be treated. He used his talents to teach numerous youth in soccer and his teams consistently finished at the top.
Scott is survived by his parents, Jack Campbell of Laguna Woods, Calif., and Judith Fillman of Coupeville; his soul mate and friend, Terri Boucher of Oak Harbor; four daughters, Sheree Campbell of Illinois, Lauren Weinberg of Laguna Beach, Calif., Hannah Jo Campbell of Lisbon Falls, Maine, and Sarah Campbell of Lisbon Falls; and two step-daughters, Cherise Reaber of Boston and Ally Reaber of Bellingham. Scott was preceded by one brother, Mark Campbell and by his grandparents, Robert and Dorothy Hier.
Services will be held at the graveside of Sunnyside Cemetery, Coupeville, on Friday, Oct. 27, at 3:30 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Burley Funeral Chapel, Oak Harbor.
