Sandra J. Rost, 60, 42-year resident of Oak Harbor, died at her home on Feb. 27, 2005, following a battle with cancer.
Mrs. Rost was born in Vivian, La., June 13, 1944, to William B. Keathley and Mattie Lee (Carson) Keathley. As a small child, she moved with her family to Texas, where she was raised in Shamrock, Refirio and Corpus Christi.
Sandra was married Nov. 16, 1962, to Myron L. Rost in Corpus Christi. They moved to Oak Harbor in December of that same year, and have resided here since that time. Sandra enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, fishing, and especially raising her family.
Sandra is survived by her husband Myron, at home in Oak Harbor; two daughters, Debbie Johnson of Puyallup and Melissa Morris and husband Mark of Oak Harbor; two sons, Tech. Sgt. Steven Rost (USAF) and wife Christina of Mildenhall, England, and Michael Rost of Mill Creek; two grandsons, David and Eric Rost; one brother, Richard Keathley and wife Ruth of Arlington, Texas; two sisters, Mary Beth LaCourse and husband John of San Antonio, Texas, and Linda Walton and husband Dick of Woodcross, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents and by one sister, Billie Jan Bolling.
A memorial service will be Thursday, March 3, at 2 p.m. at Living Word Fellowship, 490 NW Crosby Rd., Oak Harbor, Pastor Dave Veach officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Burley Funeral Chapel.
