Samuel ‘Sam’ Crosbie Taylor: June 13, 1946 – July 20, 2021

In Loving Memory

Samuel ‘Sam’ Crosbie Taylor

June 13, 1946 – July 20, 2021

Born in Seattle, Wash., to Howard and Marjorie Taylor, Sam grew up with two sisters, Marjean (Mike Price) and Patricia(Ken Hanson) in Port Angeles and on Whidbey Island, Wash.

Sam met the love of his life, Susan (Politano) Taylor, in Port Angeles and the two became one in Victoria, B.C. on April 20, 1968.

Entering into the U.S. Navy in 1966, he served our country proudly for four years.

Sam and Susan had two beloved children, Jennifer (Taylor) Love and Jonathan Taylor, and treasured son-in-law Christian Love.

Sam received his registered nursing degree in 1991 and served the Seattle community with compassion for over 25 years at Harborview Medical Center.

Sam loved sailing, building boats, crabbing and sitting at the beach watching life on Puget Sound go by. He also enjoyed conversations and chatter of his three grandchildren, Ellarie, Arawyn and Tirian. His joy was taking them and his dogs for long walks on the beach.

On Dec. 24, 2020, Sam was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, which he fought for seven months. We are deeply saddened by the loss of Sam in our lives. We remember with fondness his kind smile, quirky comebacks and his loving care for family, friends and community.

Many thanks to Continuum Hospice’s Sherry Mendoza, RN, and staff for treating Sam with respect, dignity and teaching us how to best care for him in his final days.
