Ruth McClurg: June 18, 1920 – September 5, 2021

Ruth McClurg was called home on September 5th at the age of 101. She was born on June 18, 1920 in Okanogan, WA to parents Burton and Grace (Wenner) Gregory. She graduated from Cascade College in Portland, OR. It was here that she met her future husband, Nolan McClurg of Bellingham, WA, who was studying for the ministry. The couple lived in Dallas and Boston where Nolan continued his studies before pastoring United Methodist churches in North Dighton, MA, Seattle, Tacoma, Oak Harbor and Woodinville.

Ruth was preceded in death by Nolan who passed away in 1992. In 2000 at the age of 80, she married an old friend, Bob Rapp. They enjoyed several happy years before Bob’s death in 2004. Ruth was also pre-deceased by her daughter June (James Adrian, Marysville). She is survived by her sister Olive Urban (Lakeside, CA), sons Philip McClurg (Tucson), Jim McClurg (Vicki, Shoreline) and Scott McClurg (Tokyo), and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ruth gave her heart to Jesus Christ early in life and followed Him all her days. A memorial service will be held at 2pm, October 17th at the Courtyard at CRISTA, 19327 King’s Garden Drive N, Shoreline, WA 98133.
