Roy John Marti, Jr. died Oct. 9, 2008 at Virginia Mason Medical Center, Seattle, at the age of 73. He was born at that same hospital on Aug. 8, 1935, to Roy John and Helene Agusta (Keppler) Marti.

Roy is survived by his wife Judy at the family home and by 10 children and their spouses: Roy J. and Kelly Marti III of Hoquiam; Chris and Brenda Marti of Coupeville; Rick and Lisa Marti of Coupeville; Rose and Doug Tyhuis of Grandview; Judy Marti and Jenene Cummings of Yelm; Mike Marti of Ferndale; Frank and Christi Marti of Clinton; Bill and Sarah Marti of Bellingham; James Marti of Los Angeles; and Tony and Alees Marti of Redmond.

Also surviving are 10 grandchildren; Jessica, Judith, Dawn, Jonathan, Emily and Ryan Marti; Brent, Tad and Sarah Tyhuis,;Katie, Hailey and Dane Marti; one great-grandchild, Andrea Marti; sisters, Maryann and Dr. Lester Sauvage (Lester) of Seattle; Scoots and Bob Doggett of Prosser; Roseanna Marti of Bellevue; Floss and Ken Campbell of Seattle; and brother, Bill and Kit Marti of Seattle.

Burley Funeral Chapel in Oak Harbor is in charge of arrangements.
