Robert “Robby” George Parkhurst: Jan. 24, 1953 – June 23, 2018

Robert George Parkhurst of Seattle passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018 following a stroke. Robby was born on Jan. 24, 1953 in Coupeville, to John and Marie Parkhurst. He grew up in Oak Harbor and graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1971.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Jerry and Don, sisters Joanie and Pam, his son Jason and his partner for many years, Mark Keene. He is survived by his grandson Hunter Parkhurst. He is also survived by brothers Jack, James and Paul, sisters Lori Kalac, Rose Ferguson, Aileen Kessler and Jessie Sweeney, and several nieces and nephews. Robby worked at Providence Mount St. Vincent in West Seattle for 21 years as the barista and gift shop manager, where he touched so many hearts everyday with his warm and loving presence.

Robby’s greatest joy was time spent with his friends and family enjoying the outdoors, working crossword puzzles, playing hours of Yahtzee, and he loved a good game of marbles with his family. Classic movies were a favorite pasttime. He could recite the lines of every Bette Davis movie.

The life and beautiful spirit of Robby will be celebrated at a mass and memorial service on July 14, 11 a.m. at Providence Mount St. Vincent at 4831 35th Ave SW, Seattle. Holy Family Catholic Church in West Seattle will celebrate him at mass on Sunday, July 15.
