Robert C. Ramsey of Greenbank died Aug. 19, 2002, at a care facility in Bothell. He was born Oct. 22, 1918, in Yakima. When he was 12 had polio. He attended Yakima schools, the University of Washington and University of California, at Berkely. He retired as director of quality control from Gerber Products Company, Ashville, N.C.

He moved to Whidbey Island 15 years ago and assisted with Island County WSU’s Master Food Preservers. He is survived by his wife Barbara; daughters Barbara, Linda and Debra in California; brother James of Greenbank and sister Betty of Tacoma. No services are planned. Inurnment will be in Yakima at a later date.
