Robert Eacrett

Robert F. Eacrett , 69, died Jan. 21, 2003 at his home in Grapeview. He was born April 26, 1933 in Port Angeles to Francis A. and Anne L. (Eckert) Eacrett.

He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He married Shirley D. Dodds on June 11, 1954, in Shelton.

Mr. Eacrett attended school in Shelton before continuing his education at Western Washington State College where he received a degree in education. He taught for two years in Shelton before teaching in Oak Harbor for 28 years. For 15 years he coached football and officiated at football games. Robert retired from teaching in 1987 and moved back to Shelton in 1988. He had also been a distributor for 20 years for Stretch Island Fruit Leather Company. He was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and enjoyed boating, cutting firewood and especially watching his grandsons play sports. Robert had played baseball for Western Washington State College.

He is survived by his wife Shirley D. Eacrett of Grapeview; daughter Lorene R. Marshall of Oak Harbor; two sons, Michael R. Eacrett of Grapeview and Steven F. Eacrett of Lake Stevens and four grandchildren. One brother, Kenneth Eacrett of Phoenix, Ariz., also survives.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 1., at Hope Chapel, 421 West E St., Shelton. Arrangements are by McComb Funeral Home of Shelton.
