Richard W. Nelson

Richard W. Nelson, 70, of Tukwila and formerly of Oak Harbor, died Aug. 25, 2003, at home.

Funeral services will be Sept. 3, at 11 a.m., at Holy Disciple Church at 10425 187th Street East in Graham.

Rick was born Dec. 30, 1932, in Tacoma, the son of Robert and Anne Nelson. He served 25 years in the United States Navy, retiring from Whidbey Island Naval Air Station as a chief petty officer. Rick was an avid golfer and a long-standing member of the Elks Lodge of Oak Harbor.

Rick is survived by a daughter, Nita (Johnson) of Auburn,; and three sons: Ken of Graham, Bob of Marysville, and Ron of Anacortes; twin brother Robert of El Paso, Texas, and two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jared.

His parents preceded Rick in death. Remembrances are suggested to the Tall Elks program.
