Richard Leroy Thiesfeld, lifetime resident of Coupeville, died suddenly at his home in Coupeville on June 16, 2013, at the age of 48. He was born May 20, 1965, in Mt. Vernon, Wash. to Leroy and Geneva (Dougliss) Thiesfeld.
Richard attended school in Coupeville.
He had been an active member of the Boy Scouts and the Coupeville Sea Scout Post.
Richard worked most of his adult life as a carpenter and painter, building and remodeling many homes in Coupeville and Oak Harbor.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, animals and playing darts, and was an avid sports fan and loved following his Seahawks.
Richard is survived by one brother, Randy Thiesfeld, of Coupeville and three sisters: Loann Gulick of Coupeville, Wanda Singleton of Jacksonville, Fla., and Linda McKinnerney (Larry) of Odessa, Texas and his former wife Tonia Saunders.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Robert.
Funeral services for Richard will be held at the Coupeville Community Bible Church with Pastor Rick Karjalainen officiating.
Private family graveside services will be held at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
