Peggy Antoinette Seats

Memorial services celebrating the life of Peggy A. Seats will be held Thursday, June 24, at 3 p.m., at Oak Harbor Assembly of God Church with Pastor Brent Sorlien officiating. Cremation was held with private family inurnment to follow at a later date.

Peggy Antoinette Seats, a lifetime resident of Oak Harbor, died at Whidbey General Hospital, Coupeville, June 20, 2004,at the age of 53. She was born May 9, 1951, in Coupeville to William J. and Betty Ardell (Dickinson) Laferriere. Peggy attended school in Oak Harbor and graduated with the Class of 1969 at Oak Harbor High School.

Peggy was a serious ballet student, having taken lessons for more than 18 years at the Kathryn Johnson Academy of Dance. In Kathryn’s last years with the academy, her health would not permit her to instruct and Peggy stepped up to teach the programs.

Peggy was married to Gerald Vincent “Jerry” Seats. She began a lifetime career working as a chef and bartender in Anacortes. She returned to Oak Harbor, working at Henderson’s, Pete’s Sake, the Blue Dolphin, and Oak Harbor Yacht Club and at Captain Whidbey and Tyee restaurants in Coupeville. Peggy was an avid pool player.

When not working, Peggy spent most of her time helping others. For many years, she was the caregiver for her parents, while holding down a full time career. She was never afraid of hard work.

Peggy Seats is survived by two children, Terra Kah and husband Amadou of Camas and David Seats of Oak Harbor. One brother, Robert Laferriere and wife Cathi of Oak Harbor and one sister Joyce Bolduc‚ and husband Andre‚ of Las Vegas and one aunt, Rita Nawman of Oak Harbor, also survive.
