Patricia Clark Thoraldson: August 10, 1941 – May 10, 2022

Patricia Karen Clark Thoraldson, born August 10, 1941 in Coupeville WA, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2022 in Issaquah, WA at the age of 80 years old.

Once described by a great friend as the “Queen of Coupeville”, Trish was the first child born to Mickey and Margaret Clark. She attended Coupeville High School and was active in many clubs, but was best known for her dancing and twirling of the fire baton. She loved Coupeville with its slower pace of island life and the close friendships that could be made. After retiring she returned to live in the same house she grew up in.

After rushing through Western Washington University in three years so that she could get married, Trish followed in her mother’s footsteps and became an elementary school teacher. She loved kids, and she could speak to them like nobody else could. She also enjoyed having the summer months off to spend with her own two boys. It was evident that her boys meant the world to her. She spared no expense of time, money, compassion or advice; whatever they needed, she made it happen. She loved taking her family to Sunriver, Oregon. This was her happy place where she vacationed at least one week each year. She appreciated its family emphasis, whether with her parents, children or grandkids. Oh what memories she made there!

Trish was lucky with love. She fell in love with three great men throughout her lifetime and each of them contributed so richly to her life and that of her boys.

Trish loved small dogs and none of them were very well trained. They ruled the roost but filled a spot in her heart like her elementary students did. She spoiled them rotten and she loved doing it.

Trish is survived by her two sons Kyle (Lida) of Issaquah, WA and Troy (Bonnie) of Southampton, NY, two grandsons Justin and Ty, and her younger brother Denny.

As was a tradition in her household and that of her parents, we will always remember Trish yelling Toot aloo from her front porch while blowing kisses as we left from a warm and wonderful visit. Tout aloo sweet Trish! You will be missed!

A celebration of Trish’s life will be held later this summer. In Lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association are appreciated.
