Olga Foster, 87 longtime Whatcom County resident, died at her daughter’s Oak Harbor home Monday, Oct. 18, 2004.
Olga was born in Sumas on Oct. 28, 1918, to Ole Wollum and Tordis (Holt) Wollum. She attended grade school in Clearbrook and graduated from Nooksack/Sumas high School. Olga lived in Canyonville, Ore. for 20 years, but returned to the Everson area where she lived for the past 36 years.
After retiring Olga enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, she loved to read, watch the Mariners and Sonics on television and when she could work in her yard. Olga especially loved being with her family. She was a source of strength and provided unconditional love to them all.
Olga is survived by her daughter Mary Fuller (late husband Larry Fuller) of Oak Harbor; five grandchildren, Lenae Sisco-Ross (Eddie) of Bellingham, Leanne King (Brian) of Bellingham, Todd Sisco (Cindi) of Myrtle Creek, Ore., Troy Sisco (Missy) of Cottage Grove, Ore. and Kristen Fuller (Michelle) of Bath, Maine; eight great-grandchildren, Kellen, Tarrin, Dustin, Brianne, Mackenzie, Danielle, Joslyn and Paxton. She also leaves, sisters, Margaret Sturgeon of Everson, Inga McDowell of Selah and Linda Halwax of Seattle, along with her neighbor and friend Dorthey Sturgeon. Olga was preceded in death by her sister Hilda Abel and her brother Leo Wollum.
Memories of our mother and grandmother will stay in our hearts forever.
Services are to be held on Saturday, with inurnment taking place at Bayview Cemetery with a memorial service to be held at her home. Arrangements under direction of Burley Funeral Chapel in Oak Harbor.
