Norman T. Finn, 83, passed away Nov. 29, 2008 at Memory Manor Nursing Home in Pomeroy, Wash. Norm was born at Lake Stevens on July 7, 1925, to Norman and Hazel Finn. In the early 1930s he moved with his parents to Oak Harbor where he graduated from high school.
Shortly thereafter he married his high-school sweetheart Marjorie Eleanor Hightower.
Norm and Margie raised their five children, Harold Norman, Beverly Joy, Charles Patrick, Michael Laurence and Cindy Lou on the family dairy farm in the Oak Harbor area. They have three grandchildren, Amanda, McKenzie and Anna-Maria, and three great-grandchildren, with one on the way. Margie passed away in 1992.
Norm, more fortunate than most, found a new love and married Shirley Dawn Knepper. They made their home together in the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley.
Active in the Banana Belt, Washington and Idaho Old Time Fiddlers, Norm will be remembered by many as “The Dobro Player.” He was also a member of Faith Tabernacle Church in Lewiston, Idaho. Norm will be remembered for his love of family, music, rock hounding and jewelry making, cow-pie baseball, his lifelong positive attitude and quick wit.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests any memorials be sent to HUGS at Memory Manor Nursing Home, 66 North 6th Street, Pomeroy, WA 99347, where he received compassionate, loving care for the past six years.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
