Nita Sherwood, born Juanita Esther Wilson on July 17, 1930 in Clear Lake, Wash., passed in her Oak Harbor home with her family at her side on Nov. 7, 2013.

Nita was a familiar face in her employment positions held at Sears, Whidbey Island Manor and at Whidbey General Hospital, along with her many charities and community services that she enjoyed, including Rebekah’s, VFW and the hospital guild.

Nita is survived by her husband Dick Sherwood, the love of her life for 64 years, three children: Linda (Mike) Keith, of Fallon, Nev., Bill (Theresa) Sherwood, of Blaine, and Vicki (Larry) Deschaine, of Spokane, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two brothers Victor and Lloyd Wilson and one sister Dixie Gee, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
