Nancy Jean Odion

Nancy Jean Odion, aka Mrs. Pink, made her transition on Jan. 19, 2011, with the support and in the presence of her family.

She was born Dec. 10, 1926. She grew up in Huntington Beach, Calif. She studied physical education at USC where she met her husband Earl. Earl brought Nancy back to his hometown Seattle where they started their family. She was a devoted mother and wife. Earl and Nancy were married for 57 years. Earl made his transition in 2009.

After raising her sons, she turned her attention to the community. She was the last surviving member of the original North West Hospital Women’s Auxiliary Guild. She gave over 10,000 hours of service in various capacities at the hospital. Nancy was known for her sense of humor and her generous and kind heart.

Nancy is survived by her two sons and daughters, Byron and Raven Odion and Felix and Gloria Odion; as well as her grandchildren Kyle and Jessica Odion and their son Wyatt, Zackery and Erika Odion and their children Ava Marie and Haakon.

A memorial is planned for Sunday, Jan. 30, at 2 p.m. at Careage of Whidbey, 311 Northwest Third St., Coupeville. For details call 360-321-6660.
