Myra H. Cobb Elder, age 92, of Coupeville, formerly of Redondo Beach, CA, died at Careage of Whidbey on Wed., Jan. 23, 2002.

Mrs. Elder was born in Azusa, CA, on Aug. 20, 1909. She was raised by her two aunts, Nanny and Bea, in Hermosa Beach, CA, where she attended school, graduating from Redondo Union High School. On April 17, 1936, she married Larry Elder. They owned and operated Majles Hobby Shop in Redondo Beach, CA, from 1944 to 1958. At the time, it was the only hobby shop in all of Los Angeles County. >From 1962 to 1977, they operated Con-Pak, a contract packaging company in Inglewood, CA.

Myra moved to Coupeville in Sept. 1999 to be near her son. Her hobbies included collecting ceramic dolls and specializing in leather work.

She is survived by her son, J. Chris Elder of Oak Harbor; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Myra was preceded in death by her husband Larry Elder, in 1979. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Friends of Whidbey Home Health, P.O.
