Mildred Beatrice Martin was born to Jesse and Coralie (Heckman) Austin in Coffeen, Ill., on July 26, 1916. She entered into rest with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 18, 2008 in Oak Harbor at the age of 91.

Mildred married Frank J. Martin in Hillsboro, Ill., on January 1, 1946. She lived most of her adult life in Alton, Ill., where she was an active member of the First Baptist Church.

She moved to Oak Harbor in her later years to be with her son Glen F. Martin, who survives her in Oak Harbor. She is also survived by her brother Elbert “Bub” Austin of Coffeen, Ill. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, one brother and one sister.

Funeral services for Mrs. Martin will be held at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home, Coffeen, Ill., on March 25. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery in Coffeen.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Affordable Burial and Cremation Services, LLC of Mount Vernon, Washington. Cards of condolence may be sent to the family in care of the funeral home.
