Milagros C. Burns, 65, of Oak Harbor, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004.
Mrs. Burns was born in Ormoc City, Leyte, Philippines, Oct. 12, 1939, to Matias Colonia and Juanita (Dinoy) Colonia. She was raised in the Philippines, where she married Wilfredo Millana May 25, 1955. He preceded her in death in 1985. March 14, 1990, she married Scott A. Burns. She came to Oak Harbor Sept. 25, 1990.
Milagros enjoyed gardening, sewing, dancing, playing bingo, yard sales, family functions, camping and walking (which she faithfully did regardless of weather conditions.) She was employed by GB Enterprises in Arlington, by TSI and by Angie’s Oriental Store.
Milagros is survived by her husband Scott, at home in Oak Harbor; one son, Loloy Millana of Ormoc City, Philippines; three grandchildren, Christopher, Juntoy and Tina Millana; one step-daughter, Deborah Jones of Oak Harbor; three step-sons, Scott Burns, Jr. and wife Bertila of Puyallup, James Burns and wife Sara of Bellingham and Jesse Herrera and wife Junie of Oak Harbor; four step-grandchildren, Haily and Jeremy Burns and Brian and Tyler Jones; also, one brother, Maximo Millana of Ormoc City, Philippines. Milagros had been a member of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church and the Fil-Am Society.
Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Burley Funeral Chapel, and from 6 to 8 p.m. at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church. A Vigil Service will be Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at 7 p.m. at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will be Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, at noon at St. Augustine’s, Rev. Ronald Belisle Celebrant. Private inurnment will take place at a later date in the Philippines. Arrangements under direction of Burley Funeral Chapel.
