Michael John Muzzall

Michael John Muzzall was born May 16, 1947, in Oak Harbor and died peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family in Cle Elum June 26, 2010.

Mike married Wendy Waller at the Oak Harbor Lutheran Church on Dec. 12, 1970, and together they raised two sons, John and David.

After working for the Washington State Patrol, Mike returned to college to become a teacher. He graduated from Western Washington University in 1980 and received an advanced degree from the University of Portland in 1995.

For 30 years he taught shop classes at Cle Elum-Roslyn High School where he developed many long-lasting friendships with co-workers and students. He was proud of his ex-students and became used to hearing “Hey, Muzz” from them whenever he was around town.

Mike will be remembered for the love he had for gardening, fishing and being outdoors; but, above all else, for the love he had for his wife and two boys.

He is survived by his wife Wendy at the family home; son John of Cle Elum; and son David and daughter-in-law Dawn of Ellensburg. He has three surviving siblings, Maura Muzzall Moore of Okanagan, sister Robi (Rodney) Marshall of Lantana, Texas, and Ronald (Shelly) Muzzall of Oak Harbor. He was preceded in his death by his parents and father-in-law, Merton Waller.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cle Elum Free Medical Clinic c/o Alpine Lakes Family Practice, P.O. box 145, Cle Elum, WA 98922.
