Mary Jane Roukie, 60, of Oak Harbor, died at Whidbey General Hospital on Jan. 11, 2006.

Mrs. Roukie was born in Los Angeles on Jan. 27, 1945, to Henry Horace Worts and Anna Elizabeth (Smith) Worts. She was raised Southern California, and lived most of her life in Lynwood, Calif., before moving to Oak Harbor in 2000. She attended Carver Foursquare Church in Lynwood. Mary enjoyed sewing, watching old movies, baking, and being a grandmother to her grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her children: Rayette Higgins and husband Jerry of Oak Harbor, Steven Roukie and wife Lorry of Port Orchard, Tyelynn R.M. Baker of Oak Harbor, Marquiesa A. Walker of Oak Harbor, and Sandy Case and husband Robert of Port Orchard; 12 grandchildren, Michael, Tony, Marissa and Jessica Lopez, Sarha, Bryan and Elizabeth Roukie, Taliejha and Malicah Rainey, Cassandra Case, Elaine Reinhold and Cassie Edwards. She was preceded in death by her parents and by four sisters, Regina, Deloris, Henrietta and Rusty.

Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 14, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Burley Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 3 p.m. at Living Word Fellowship, Pastor Dave Veach officiating. Arrangements under direction of Burley Funeral Chapel.
