Marsha Lunceford

Marsha Kay Lunceford, 31, of Oak Harbor, died suddenly on Dec. 1, 2005, at Deception Pass bridge.

Mrs. Lunceford was born July 24, 1974, in St. Cloud, Fla., to Richard DeLauder and Patricia (Doupe) DeLauder. She was raised in Mount Vernon, Ohio, where she graduated from high school in 1992. Following high school graduation, Marsha joined the U.S. Navy, serving her country for three years.

She met Brian L. Lunceford at El Centro (Calif.) Naval Air Facility (Marsha’s first duty station), and the couple was married on July 24, 1994, on Marsha’s 20th birthday, in Mesa, Ariz. Marsha and Brian moved to NAS Whidbey in 1996, and remained here until 2000, when they transferred to LeMoore Naval Air Station in California. They returned to NAS Whidbey in December 2003.

Marsha was an active volunteer for the Red Cross and for the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society. She enjoyed crafts and working with her computer.

Marsha is survived by her husband Brian; her three children, twins Amanda and Alexander (age 11) and Ashley (age 10); her parents, Richard and Patricia DeLauder of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; her grandmother, Leota DeLauder, of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; also, numerous other relatives.

A funeral service will be held Friday, Dec. 9, at 10:30 a.m. at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, 1850 W. Texas St., Fairfield, Calif., with burial following at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery. Visitation will precede the service from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Local arrangements under direction of Burley Funeral Chapel.
