Marjorie Anne Renick, age 95, of Sedro-Woolley, Washington, passed away September 12, 2021. She was born April 18, 1926, in Seattle, WA to Melvin K. and Annie Dorothea (Hamerquist) Monro.

Marjorie graduated from Roosevelt High School, Seattle, WA at the age of 16, and was married to Harley H. Hall on February 6, 1943 in Oakland, CA. Harley was in the US Navy stationed at Alameda, CA. After World War II, Harley and Marjorie ended up on Whidbey Island, where Harley completed his 20-year service and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. The family now included four daughters, Alice, Marcia, Annie and Sally. Harley and Marjorie divorced in 1976 and he passed in 2004.

Marjorie had many jobs: waitress, telephone operator, dental assistant, office manager and real estate agent. She had great energy and enthusiasm and was totally involved in every aspect of her family and work. She also contributed to her community by volunteering through local food banks and church outreach groups. She was one of the founding members of Grandma’s House of Central Oregon, a homeless shelter and outreach for pregnant and parenting young mothers.

Marjorie married Robert E. Renick in 1982 and they ended up living in Bend, Oregon, where Robert passed in 1996. Marjorie continued her life-long activities being active in civic, political and church affairs. Her interest in researching family history resulted in a treasure of information for her family. She also achieved her education goal by graduating from Oregon State University, Suma cum laude, at the age of 79. Marjorie’s favorite lifetime activity was dancing – anytime, anywhere!

Marjorie is survived by her four daughters, Alice and Gary Whistler of Garibaldi, OR, Marcia and Ric Jennings of Sedro-Woolley, WA, Annie Hall of Oak Harbor, WA, and Sally and Charlie Singh of Snohomish, WA; seven grandchildren, Greg Whistler, Brian Whistler, Ken Whistler, Jacob (Brenda) Jennings, Matthew (Brittany Fox) Jennings, Colette (Derrick) Prouty and Jaymie Singh; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Alynne Prins of Snohomish, WA and Lorraine Olafson of Stanwood, WA; sister-in-law, Barbara Monro of Lake Stevens, WA; a very special cousin and friend, Karolyn (Karly) and husband, John Burdick of Clallam Bay, WA.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Melvin Arthur Monro and husband, Robert.
