After Lou retired from Boeing in 1981, he and Ruth moved to their beach house on Whidbey Island where he spent the rest of his life gardening and living by his philosophy: “Let me live in a house by the side of the road and be a friend to man.”
He is survived by his loving wife Ruth and three children, Donna (Dean Chantry), Bob (Geneva) and Jim (Hollie Swanson), as well as ten grandchildren, Stacey, Lisa, Jeff, Mike, Beth, Ben, Becca, Andy, Joanna, and Kate.
