Linda Joyce Cook

Funeral services in remembrance of Linda Joyce Cook will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 3, at Family Bible Church with Pastor Jim Mikos officiating. Graveside services will follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 2, from 2 until 7 p.m. at Burley Funeral Chapel. Arrangements are by Burley Funeral Chapel.

Linda Joyce Cook peacefully went home to be with the Lord on April 27, 2002. She was born Aug. 24, 1955, to Leo and Marion Lamberson in Riverside, Calif. Linda married John Cook Aug. 25, 1973. They lived in Oak Harbor from 1979 until 1983, returning in 1988.

Linda had many interests in arts and crafts and was a stained glass artist. She was a loving mother to her children and granddaughter. Linda was a home school mom for 16 years and a board member of Island County Horse Leaders 4-H Club. She was a member and Sunday school teacher at Family Bible Church.

Linda is survived by her husband, John; her four children, Jeremy Cook and his wife Randi of Everett, Christopher Cook, who is stationed in England while serving in the U.S. Air Force, and Ashley and Zachary Cook, both of Oak Harbor; her father and step-mother, Leo and Gloria Lamberson of Mesa, Ariz.; her mother and step-father, Marion and Clayton Stone of Joplin, Mo.; brother, Dennis Lamberson of Brainerd, Minn.; step-brothers, Billy Lamberson of Newman, Calif. and Barney Lamberson of Modesto,Calif.; mother-in-law, Lila Mae Cook-Gahagan of Corona, Calif.; and granddaughter, Kayla Marie Cook of Everett.

Remembrances may be made to the Coupeville Cossacks or to the College Memorial Fund for Linda’s children, Ashley and Zach, c/o Alaska USA Credit Union.
