Ken Perry, longtime resident of Oak Harbor, formerly of Ohio, N.Y., died June 24, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bellingham. He was born April 27, 1938 to Maurice and Anne Perry in Ohio, N.Y.
Ken married Jean Lynch on April 20, 1959 in Newport, N.Y. Ken’s career in the U.S. Navy brought them to Oak Harbor in 1966, where he retired in 1976. After retirement he had two successful businesses in Oak Harbor: Jim’s Garage and Perry’s Quality Plumbing. Ken and Jean raised a happy family in Oak Harbor and loved living here.
Ken loved the outdoors and had a passion for hunting and fishing. He also loved Labradors and was a scuba diver in his youth. He was gifted with his hands and was a true craftsman, but his greatest gift was his love and devotion to his wife and family.
Ken is survived by his son Wayne Perry of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; granddaughter Jenn Molnar and family Shaun and Olivia of Stanwood; grandson Jeff Perry with family Monica and Abbey of Oak Harbor; sister Mary Hladun of Floyd, N.Y.; brother Andy Perry of Cranston, R.I.; and brother Raymond Perry of Tumberland, Va.
