Joyce Lillian Pintler, 71, of Coupeville, died March 16, 2003, at Whidbey General Hospital. Joyce was born August 28, 1931, in Spokane to Alberta Blackman (Moss) and Ralph Blackman. She married Ray Pintler who preceded her in death.

Joyce worked many years at the Kennel in Oak Harbor and later at Toby’s Tavern in Coupeville. She is survived by her mother Alberta Moss of Careage of Whidbey; two brothers, Ken Blackman of Santa Clara, Calif., and Denny Moss; one sister, Robin Kaji of Vancouver, Wash.; her two sons, Mark Pintler of Mount Lake Terrace and Rick and wife Mary Ann Pintler of Oak Harbor; and one grandson, Brad Pintler of Arizona.

In keeping with her wishes no services will be held. A private viewing was held at Burley Funeral. She will be cremated and her ashes spread with her husband’s.
